High School Sports Feature: D Fence

Two points! Two points is all the Bellarmine Prep High School girl's team allowed in the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined on Friday against Eastlake. The two points were scored in the 2nd quarter on a pair of free throws by Alyssa Charlston. They sure played like the Lions they are in that span as they built a 33-15 lead while going on a 20-2 run.
Eastlake was staring down the record that was set by Mountlake Terrace 35 years ago for the lowest losing score in a 4A tournament game at 20. Luckily they were able to score on their first 3 possessions of the 4th quarter to keep themselves from that undistinguished piece of history.
After securing the 47-36 victory the Lions will now face Lewis & Clark on Saturday in the 5th/8th place game.
This will be a tough test for Bellarmine Prep as they will be facing a team that has lost only 3 times all year and just pummelled Kamiak 69-26. If the Lions played defense like they did on Friday then they should feel very good about their chances.
