Iowa department not going by DOA

The state of Iowa decided not to change the name of their Department of Elderly Affairs to Department on Aging.

The main reason for this is that the Department on Aging would go by DOA. DOA, also the common hospital term for Dead on Arrival, was frowned on by the state lawmakers.

They assumed that a department for the elderly probably should go by something that means dead.

I think they may have a point here.

And in this current terrible housing market, we now need to talk to the Department of Housing. Or for short they go by D'oh!
