Trouble has mounted on the International Space Station, not only have they been dodging space debris and have trouble installing a component due to a backwards locking pin - and now NASA has canceled the test of the urine recycler.
Engineers also were trying to figure out why a water purification system that recycles urine and condensate into drinking water was not working properly. The Discovery crew delivered a new distiller for the centrifuge-type device that was successfully tested without liquids on Saturday.
Problems developed during the first test run Sunday using urine.
One test I don't want to have develop problems is when I'm trying out the urine recycler. I can imagine it going something like this.
"This is Houston... does the recycled urine taste like water or urine?"
"Um, still tastes like urine, Houston."
"That's just gross."
Well hopefully they packed a lot of Gatorade with them.
