Apparently all that talk about A-Rod coming back and the Yankees being a much better ballclub was a mute point as the Boston Red Sox improved to 6-0 against their bitter rivals with a 7-0 victory over them at Fenway last night.
And everything that could have gone right for the Sox did. David Ortiz hit his third homer of the year and Josh Beckett pitched a gem (6 innings, 1 hit, 8 strikeouts). The Yankees as a team had two whole hits.
Come on, let's face facts here - without jinxing anything, at this current moment in the baseball season, the Boston Red Sox own the New York Yankees.
Admit it.
