Mariners legendary broadcaster Dave Niehaus dies
The Seattle Times has reported that the Mariners broadcaster Dave Niehaus has passed away on Wednesday.
Dave Niehaus, the legendary and beloved voice of the Mariners from their inception in 1977 through the final game of the 2010 season, died Wednesday, the ballclub confirmed.
The Mariners are expected to make an official statement soon.
If you're like me, and grew up in the Northwest, then you've heard Niehaus calling the M's games.
When I was interning with FSN I had the chance to talk with him a few times and he was a pretty cool guy. And he had a certain swagger throughout the ballpark. But I guess when the broadcasting booth is named after you, you're allowed to do what you want.
And if you grew up in the Northwest, then you'll never forget this call:
(If you don't get chills listening to this call, then something is wrong)
