High School Sports Feature: At the Buzzer

Today in the Washington State 4A Basketball Tournament, Inglemoor High School played Roosevelt High School. The game came to a dramatic end when 6 foot 1 senior guard Benji Bryant hit a 17 foot jumper at the buzzer. Bryant, a co-captain, finished the game with 14 points, just slightly below his average of 17.2 per game.

The 42-40 victory vaulted the Vikings (18-6) into the quarterfinals for the first time in the schools history. In the game Todd Campbell, who is tied for the most blocks in a game with 8 and is also a co-captain, chipped in 10 points and 8 boards. With two more victories in the state tournament the Vikings would tie the school record for the third most wins in a season matching the total from their 1991-92 team at 20.

Inglemoor will play the winner of the Mariner-Kentridge game at 3:30 pm on Thursday.
