It is now official. After visiting a number of different teams, and being asked to stay at Cincinnati, T.J. Houshmandzadeh has chosen the Seattle Seahawks.
Houshmandzadeh's pick comes as a bit of a surprise to me as he was easily the "prize" receiver in free agency. He stated that he likes Coach Mora and that it really meant a lot to him that Matt Hasselbeck greeted him when he visited the Seahawks last week.
The deal is supposedly worth $40 million over five years, with about $15 million guaranteed.
Sadly though Houshmandzadeh's arrival all but closes the chapter on Bobby Engram's time with the Hawks. It will be very sad to see Engram go, but it is nice to see a new, even more talented reciever come in.
Welcome to the area Housh. Make yourself at home. I'm sure you'll love it here. Oh, and the 12th man is pretty supportive.
