Awesome thing of the day to buy: Bane Doll

If you're a fan of the new Batman trilogy (buy all the Blu rays here) then you're no doubt familiar with Bane, the villain in the Dark Knight rises. While the Joker in the Dark Knight takes the cake for perhaps the best movie villain of all time, hands down, you have to give mad props to Bane for being the most entertaining.

Because lets face it, sometimes the Joker was just too depressing.

After watching "The Dark Knight Rises" my friends and I had the Bane voice going for a few months. Now I have this Bane Doll sitting on my desk at work. Inexpensive, yet funny as hell.

The new Batman has been announced

Something tells me this won't be as good as the first two...

Seattle Superheroes

Apparently Seattle is now the home of vigilante superheroes.

These "superheroes" have been roaming the city protecting it from bad guys.

The seattlepi.com reports they call themselves the Rain City Superhero Movement - part of a nationwide movement.

Police say they don't mind people calling 911 and being good witnesses, but it's not a good idea to put themselves in danger.

In one case on Nov. 4 police found a man wearing a Batman costume and calling himself Phoenix the Guardian of Seattle. He was with four other men and one woman all in costumes.

Wow. Just wow. All I can think of is this running around the streets of Seattle:

If you've ever seen "The Dark Knight" then you know that things didn't work out good for the "copycat" heroes in that movie. Mainly thanks to this guy:

So superheroes of Seattle. Be careful.

Pug sings Batman

This made me laugh. He sings about as good if not better than Brandon.

Commuting Crusade: Batman

That's right ladies and gentlemen, today we are starting a new feature at Just South of North.

Since I spend roughly two hours a day in my car commuting to-and-from my desk job, I have been seeing a lot of strange and marvelous things.

So, beginning today check back to JustSON on a regular basis for our new feature section:

Commuting Crusade

Batman.

That's right, today I saw the Batman. He came roaring up beside me in a 2010 Ford Mustang. Dark silver paint job, blacked out windows, black rims, stealth lights, ground effects, racing spoiler and huge fatty tires.

Oh, and the reason I knew it was Bruce Wayne himself.

The license plate read: DRKKNHT

I'll say it, I like chick movies

So tonight I was hanging out with my sister and my fiance. They decided that they were going to watch Twilight.

And I must say that Brandon will now forever call me a teenage girl. Why you might ask? Not simply because I watched the movie. Oh no. But because I actually enjoyed the movie.

It doesn't take much for me to be entertained when it comes to TV shows and movies. Give me a good storyline and I'm set.

While I won't rank this movie in my Top 10 list (this list includes Transformers, Batman Begins, Dumb and Dumber and Any Given Sunday) it was very good. And if one day I was flipping through the channels, I would probably stop to watch it.

Why I hate CSI:Miami

So when most of us go home for the holidays, we're at the viewing mercy of whatever our family wants to watch. I'm blessed to have a most graceful family that lets me sit in front of the television and watch football over Thanksgiving, even if the Seahawks are getting their butts kicked, and yell, scream, cuss and have the occasional mild turkey-induced heart attack.

However, there is one show that they like that I simply must refrain from watching: CSI:Miami.

Now I'm not a big CSI fan in general, but I will concede that the original CSI is very watchable and can see why people have gotten so hooked on it. The characters work well together and you actually care how they end up.

CSI: Miami though has me wishing that the main character, Horatio Caine (played by David Caruso) would meet his untimely demise by virtue of some sort of horrible woodchipper accident. Caruso delivers every line like it's life or death, a form of over-acting that's only surpassed by William Shatner.

And combine that with writing that obviously has come from the finest that an elementary school has to offer and you have lines like this...

(Imagine this being delivered in a raspy voice akin to Batman from "The Dark Knight"

"The ONLY way you CAN honor her DEATH is to FORGIVE yourself."

And then throw in ridiculous plots like a vaporizing gun that has made its way to Miami, complete with guys actually disintegrating "Star Trek" style, and all attempt of belief by the view is out the window.

The rest of the cast is forgettable, REALLY forgettable. Just collect your average stereotypes from Cop shows and you have yourself the rest of the cast of CSI:Miami.

Blah, I'm just going to watch Law And Order: This is actually the 14th variation of the show unit.

Epic Photo: The REAL Batman

Yeah. Just look.

Bob Dullam has built a real tumbler. Yeah. Pretty sweet.

Read more about it here.

Now that would make for a pretty sweet Halloween costume. He drives in (through a wall of course) and then beats up a guy dressed like the Joker. Maybe the guy who tried to steal the stuff from a theater on the premier of Dark Knight.

Yeah, totally first place.

Here's how the price of gas has been affecting Batman

Oh, and congrats to Brandon for somehow surviving another year. Yeah, we are all pretty amazed at that. Especially with all the threats from Montana fans. Here's to another one!

The Dark Knight

I'll admit it. When I first heard way back when the second Batman Begins was announced, that Heath Ledger would be playing the Joker, I was saddened. I just didn't think he had what it took to play a role like this.

And then the screen shots started showing up. And wow they looked good.

Sadly, Ledger's death came too soon. And many were afraid this role would ruin his acting story.

I just saw The Dark Knight. (for the second time actually) and it is simply amazing. I won't say that Ledger deserves an Oscar or not, only because the people who pick the winners always pick people from movies nobody has ever heard of.

But he is simply astounding in this movie. Even trying to picture Ledger, all you can see is the Joker. He didn't just play a role, he became a role. If you haven't seen it, I would say go now. Yes, right now!

And then let me know what you think.
