Don't mess with a Chinese Walmart

I've long made fun of Walmart for it's white trashness, but the occasionally shirtless trailer troll is nothing compared to Chinese Walmarts - where a woman was beaten to death by employees for shoplifting.

BEIJING — A woman in eastern China was allegedly beaten to death by five employees of a Wal-Mart store who accused her of shoplifting, a police report and state media said Tuesday.

Police have arrested two employees from the store in Jiangxi province, while three others are being investigated, Jingdezhen city police said in a report on their website.

According to the report, the woman was beaten outside her home near the Wal-Mart on August 30 and died in a city hospital on Wednesday last week from injuries suffered during the beating.

Ladies and gentlemen China! Where not only will you get asthma for visiting the place, and you'll have to give up all your human rights, but now you'll get the everliving crap beat out of you for snagging something from the $5 DVD bin.

This cracks me up because you always hear people around Eastern Washington (who wear trucker hats) saying "Why can't we go back to hanging people, it would make criminals think twice" and "Man, if somebody steals they should get their hand lopped off like in the Middle East" ... which is utterly ridiculous and completely against what this country is all about.

Now if they would of heard about this Walmart story, I'm sure they would have thought twice about saying things like that. It's called a justice system, and apparently it's a lot nicer in the US than it is in China.

Sometimes I give the French a little more razzing than they deserve. I must applaud their anti-Chinese protests as the Olympic flame was paraded through their city. Here's a caption from the photo above...

Apparently things got testy in Paris, because French people get really pissy when governments start taking away freedom. I wish Americans would do the same but we're too busy getting Tivo to work.

(Actually, San Francisco is bracing for the worst when the Olympic torch comes through their town. I hope things get rocking because we know the Bay area loves a great political protest)

Sorry China, but until you start treating your people like human beings, you shouldn't be allowed to host the Olympics. Now go block this blog from your people's search engines...
