Camo on the field?
In case you missed the Army vs. Navy game, here are the uniforms the Army team wore onto the field. Now, don't get me wrong, I respect the men in uniform. I am grateful they do what they do, so I can spend my time writing this blog.
But seriously, what was with those uniforms. When I flipped on the TV Saturday, my first thought was, "What terrible uniforms is Oregon wearing now?"
But then I realized it wasn't Oregon.
What did you guys think about the camo uniforms of Army?
Personally I think that if they wanted to blend into the field (which by the score they pretty much did) they should have worn solid green uniforms with horizontal white stripes.

You are un-american, Mr. Knopik.
ReplyDeleteThe question I have is that since Army actually wears Camo, what kind of uniforms would Navy wear? Because we all know sailors look like sissies.
Are you kidding me? These are badass! By the way, Oregon's uniforms (any of them) are the best in College football.
ReplyDeleteI like 'em. What is more 'army' than camo?! Even without 'Army' printed on the front you should know who the team is.
ReplyDeleteHow old are you anyway? lol You're a kid - you should like new ideas and new designs, especially one as logical in it's conceptualization as this.
ps: and I like the Duck uni's. Why not? What are we suppose to be playing in?.... sweaters and leather helmets still?!
ReplyDeleteI didn't mind them too much and I think its fitting for Army to wear camo, they are the only team in CFB that could pull of that look. Not as cool as Oregons new black uniforms though, those uniforms are just plain sick.
ReplyDeleteHave any of you people actually SEEN the Oregon uniforms? Their awful - get your eyes checked!
ReplyDeleteThe Oregon uniforms are absolutely loved by kids in the 16 to 22 year old demographic. It's about marketing. 40 somethings like me and you don't matter. It's marketing genius. Good, or bad, the Oregon uniforms get talked about, and it gets attention to the school, and the team. That's the point. It's marketing genius.
ReplyDeleteI'm a UofO grad and familiar with some of the folks that worked in proximity to the Nike-Oregon thing. That is a very special relationship and because of it, I think Oregon has some of the best sports marketing in NCAA Football. I mean look at what they accomplished in the last decade. Nobody knew anything about Oregon Football in 1985, and now you are talking about it in a blog for ARMY. Point made.
ReplyDeleteSport died the day they started having marketing discussions for it. All we have now is a cultural compact disc on 'replay.'
ReplyDeletesickest uniforms i have ever seen.
