WSU Weekly Update: Eat this UW!

While the basketball team is going through crunch time as they battle Arizona and Stanford for positioning in the Pac-10 Conference for basketball, it's also crunch time for football coach Paul Wulff with the National Signing Day looming on Wednesday.

And how is he handling it? According to the Seattle Times, he's doing it with plenty of Bravado:

Can the Cougars continue to come to the Puget Sound area and yank the tail of the Huskies for prospects?

"Yeah," the WSU coach responded quickly. "We're going to go in there. All we need is a player, and parents, to listen to us and let us show what we have to offer.

"If they're truly going to listen to us, I like our chances."

Game on.

Woohoo! Coug fans have to estatic that not only did Tyrone Willingham run the Huskies program in to the ground but now they have a head coach that actually recruits and recruits well. Nevermind that guy, what's his name, Bill "Only marginally talented players will do" Doba.

I've said this time and time again, Wulff is perfectly suited for Pullman because he's used to getting kids to come out to a farming community after spending all those years out in Cheney as EWU's football coach. I'm sure he's developed quite the sales pitch after getting recruits like Erik Meyer and Eric Kimble to come out to EWU.

Like really, what did he tell them?

"Zips is open 24-hours a day, so if you ever get hungry, you know where to go. And did I mention we'll be building an ice rink in oh, about five years."

Seriously, the man is a genius.
