
What we're witnessing is the slow bleeding of a once-proud American city. And here's an absolutely haunting slide show by Time.com of the city that is slipping into ruin. Keep in mind some of these photos are of buildings that were still inhabited as recent as 2005 and now they've fallen into ruins. No joke.

I live in Michigan, although I've never lived in Detroit or even been there much. It is sad to see the city decay so fast and so much.
