Appalachian State senior quarterback Armanti Edwards, a three-time All-American, will miss two to four weeks after injuring his right foot while mowing the lawn at his off-campus residence Wednesday. Teammate and roommate Brian Quick transported Edwards to Watauga Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Medical privacy laws prevent the university from releasing details about the injury, Appalachian State spokesman Mike Flynn said. The Mountaineers open practice Friday, and the first game is Sept. 5 against rival East Carolina.
Can we keep lawn mowers, dogs, axes and guns away from football players? And while we're at it we should probably also keep girls brandishing firearms away from them as well. Too soon?
Armanti, here's to a speedy recovery and I hope you demolish the Montana Grizzlies in the playoffs.
