High School Sports Feature: Wolverines

Bellevue High School and Franklin High School appear to be on a collision course to meet in the championship game of the 3A State Boys Basketball Tournament at the Tacoma Dome. After the Wolverines finished off Union on Thursday by the count of 70-47 to advance to today's semifinal matchup at 8:30 pm pacific time with Columbia River. Bellevue has won both games in the tournament by an average of 19 points.

The Wolverines were led in this game by senior forward Alex Schrempf (sounds familiar...), who scored 20 points, Aaron Bright with 15 points and Colton Christian who scored 13 points. Bellevue was red hot from the field in this game especially in the 2nd half when they converted 14 out of 19 shots.

It certainly looks like we could see a Bellevue versus Franklin final on Saturday as both of these teams haven't really been tested in the first 2 rounds of this tournament. Bellevue will be looking to double dip here as they were crowned state champions in football (good thing Skyline moved back up to 4A) back in December at this same venue.
