High School Sports Feature: Beavers do it in Overtime

The Ballard High Schools boys soccer team locked up their second conference win on Tuesday when they beat Newport High School in the 9th minute of overtime 2-1. The goal was scored by Nick Christie who got also got the assist on the Beavers first goal which was put in by Greg Testa. The game was tied up when Newport scored at the end of regulation.

With the win Ballard is now 4-4-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the KingCo 4A division (they are tied for 5th in the Crown division with Lake Washington). Ballard has been on a bit of a roll as of late having won 3 of their last 4 matches after sputtering early.

This Friday Ballard gets a chance to avenge a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Inglemoor in their first game of the season. The game will be at 7:30 pm at Interbay Stadium.

On a side note Ballard High School will be holding a Cheer Clinic on Saturday May 2 from 10 am to 12:30 pm at the Ballard High School Commons, cost is only $15 and is valid for students kindergarten and up. And no Casey and Brandon you can't try out, even though you both act like you are still in grade school.....well actually it doesn't specify, I guess you both would be considered UP. Hmm...
