High School Sports Feature: Evergreen 2A golf

Yesterday at Oaksridge Golf Course in Elma, Washington a clash of titans happened. The undefeated Aberdeen High School Bobcats met the undefeated Elma High School Eagles in a battle for supremacy. The winner would be crowned the girls Evergreen 2A Conference golf champion, and the looser would settle for second place.

Elma star
freshman Alexis Keating shot a one under par to finish at 35 on the course and an easy gold finish.

But after her, things got rocky for the Eagles as they would eventually loose
256-239.

The way scoring works in team golf is all the players scores are added up for the total. And the lower score wins.

Aberdeen was led by
Karley Wagner who shot a 43 and Taylor Sundstrom with a 44.

No
w that the crown has been decided, the teams headed out for non-league matches today. Elma played Montesano at Oaksridge Golf Course and Aberdeen met Rochester at Centralia’s Riverside Golf Course.
