JustSON the Numbers: David Ortiz breaks my heart

David Ortiz's Stat line: .208 BA, .318 OBP, 10 2B 15 RBI, 30 K and O HR.

I love Ortiz, here's a guy that always come up in the biggest moments and delivered. He delivered so much, you expected him to hit a walk-off home run. Expected - Expected one of the most exciting plays to happen in sports on a regular basis. This was what made Ortiz so special.

Now things are bad. Really bad. He's batting in the three-hole, doesn't seem to have the power he once had and left roughly the population of Spokane on base yesterday. Is he healthy? Nobody knows. But one thing is for sure, it's more than a slump - something is seriously wrong with David Ortiz.

There's another dark cloud that is surrounding the suspicious decline of Ortiz, but I can't go there. I really can't. All I can say is that his fly balls look 10-15 feet short of the fence every time he connects.

But hey! Good news! He's going to be facing the Seattle Mariners' bullpen this weekend, which is like that Little League team that got moved up three age groups because they had nobody in their division. This should be interesting...
