Missing flags found
Here at Just South of North we like squirrels. They are funny little creatures. And they are resourceful.
Take the squirrel that lived in the trees of the cemetery in Port Huron, Michigan.
Every Memorial Day the workers of the cemetery place over 1,000 mini American flags next to the graves of the veterans.
Well, some of the workers were noticing that a few of the flags had gone missing. The little wooden poles they had been attached too were still there, but the flags were on to be found.
Then the superintendent of the cemetery saw the culprit in action. A squirrel came down and detached a flag from the post and carried it up to a nest.
And I'm sure those little flags will make good blankets for the baby squirrels.
This photo is of a young gray squirrel. Isn't it cute?
