Either the Kansas City Royals are really bad or the Seattle Mariners are pretty good... yeah, the Royals are terrible.
However, that doesn't have to stop Seattle from feeling good about themselves. While the Boston Red Sox were getting swept in Tampa Bay - much to my chagrin, the Mariners had their highest offensive output since the beginning of the season against the Royals in a 11-6 victory.
Both the pitchers the Mariners got after unloading Washburn seem serviceable and maybe this is a sign of things to come for the M's at the plate.
Actually... what the heck am I thinking?
The Royals are bad! Sorry Casey, but they could pay me money to throw fat pitches over the plate instead of these supposed "professional baseball players" that are at the "major league level." And should we go down the lineup of Seattle Mariner castoffs that the Royals have? Ugh.
They'll play a slate of games against Tampa Bay and New York this next week so we should get a good indicator of where they're at, and since they usually do well against AL East teams they might fine themselves in pretty good shape.
Until then, it must be fun picking on Kansas City.
