This Ian Snell kid is pretty darn good

The Washburn trade might be working out already for the Seattle Mariners...

The Mariners are looking for assurances that Snell can become a rotation fixture for years to come, and his performance in Sunday night’s 4-2 loss to the Texas Rangers certainly helped.

Snell allowed only a pair of runs on three hits over six innings before being pulled with the score tied.

“That’s what I’m here to do,” Snell said. “Keep the team in the game and help them win it.”

The Mariners, knowing he hadn’t pitched in a week, pulled him at that point and reliever Sean White gave up the decisive two-run homer to Jarrod Saltalamacchia in the seventh.

Now if Luke French turns out to be decent, the M's could have something going here.
