So I don't mean to brag about my hometown of Chewelah but we do have one stoplight and another crosswalk light that kind of flashes.But we're big-time when it comes to baseball as my Chewelah Cougars are now 4-1 after sweeping the Newport Bears and drubbing Lake Roosevelt.
Against Roosevelt, they called the first game after a 23-run second-inning and the next game only went four innings.
Travis McCanna had six hits and Nathan Burgess had five.
Look for JustSON to do a report from one of the Chewelah games here later in the season, as they'll no doubt let me take BP with the team so I can show them a thing or two about baseball. Namely, striking out.
Maybe I shouldn't go up there now that I think about it.
Anyways, Chewelah is picked to finish third in the NEA this year behind Lakeside and Freeman, but with the way they've been playing, we'll see how things shake out.

ReplyDeleteChewelah is a scrappy team that never gives up. However, Lakeside took two from them Saturday so a 3rd in the NEA is a real possibility for the
