While it hasn't been a rough stretch - only two losses - it hasn't been the best of times for the Seattle Sounders FC in the last seven matches as they have gone 1-2-4. That has dropped them to fourth in the Western Conference heading into today's match against the first place club, Chivas USA.
And they have a few tricks up their sleeves. Shifting from a 4-4-2 formation to a 4-2-3-1 shift (something that a lot of French and Spanish clubs do) which should allow the Sounders FC to be more flexible and control the midfield. This should also allow them to highlight the offensive skills of one of their top players - Freddie Ljungberg - since he wont have to get back on defense all the time.
We will see how it works in the match today at 7:30 p.m. down in Carson, CA. Scarves up!
