Sounders beat best team in MLS

Just like that, the Sounders FC have won four in a row...

The Houston Dynamo traded defender Patrick Ianni to Sounders FC before this season, probably never imagining that he would be the guy to beat them.

Guess what? Ianni, with only one previous goal in his four-year career, did just that, driving a bicycle kick into the far corner of the net in the 46th minute to break a 1-1 tie and lead Sounders FC to a 2-1 victory over the Dynamo at sunny Qwest Field Saturday afternoon.

Ianni didn't appear to know he had scored until his teammates mobbed him. He'd collected a loose ball off the head of teammate Jhon Kennedy Hurtado to the left of Houston goalkeeper Pat Onstad, and attempted the bicycle with the idea, it appeared, to just keep the ball in play.

Instead, the ball found the net, and Sounders FC hung on for its sixth win at Qwest Field of the season. Seattle improved to 7-3-7 and moved three points behind the Dynamo for first place in Major League Soccer's Western Conference.

Fantastic. This gives me a perfect excuse to drink tonight.
