Headlines: The day after St. Patty Mills Day.

Note to the rest of the NIT field: Patty Mills is healthy after he dropped 27 points in a Gaels victory over the Washington State Cougars last night. Yeah, the same Cougars that play a lot of defense.

This matchup between St. Mary's and the Davidson Stephen Currys should be a fun treat for college basketball fans.

Without further delay here is our first round of Headlines for the day:

Obama nominates Steelers owner Dan Rooney the ambassador to Ireland.
Wonder if he'll screw the Irish out of a Super Bowl too.

Our friends over at Tailgate 365.com seem to think the Denver Broncos are screwed after the whole Jay Cutler ordeal. I agree with them.

If you're an NBA fan with any sense of humor, you'll enjoy this t-shirt. If you're a Lakers fan, enjoy Adam Morrison.

Spokane County's Unemployment Rate is now a whopping 9.7 percent. Guess that means more people will have time to attend the Spokane Shock game tomorrow.

Seattle is going crazy for the debut of the Sounders. Because lets face it, the Sonics aren't around anymore. Casey will be at the game on Thursday while I watch from a bar somewhere hitting on Sasquatch.

Tom Brady is officially the new Apollo Creed before the fight in the first Rocky movie. Remember how he didn't train and just promoted? Any Pats fans worried about this upcoming season?

Gonzaga Weekly Update: Zags first team to go undefeated in conference three times

Look at the picture above. That pretty much illustrates what Gonzaga has done to the WCC this year.

Thank god for Patty Mills' broken hand.

Now that said, let's take a step back and look at where the Zags stand after their 58-47 victory over San Diego last night. Remember midway through the season when it looked like they were turning in lack luster performances and not really living up to expectations. Now while they didn't turn things around to the point where everyone is believing them going into the tournament but they're playing with enough snort and a chip-on-their-shoulder attitude that they'll definitely need in the WCC Tournament.

Why? According to JSON contributor Dylan Kitzan, who lives breathes and smokes college basketball, they're not his favorite in the tournament. That would be Saint Mary's.

They've caused problems for the Zags in their meetings so far this season and that game will be an absolute barn-burner when the two squads match up. Now that being said, ranked No. 17 in the nation, they don't need to win their tournament. But that is some added momentum that these guys need going into the NCAAs.

So while Zag fans should be happy they've reached this milestone, they can't take a breather right now. They've got to continue to dig and scratch. Who knew this season was going to be so tough?
