Epic Video: Community

Every Thursday is Community on NBC.

While NBC might have royally screwed up the Olympics, this show hits a home run. Last nights episode was HILARIOUS.

John Madden retires

I just heard the news that John Madden told NBC that he will not be back for another season in the box.

All I can say is, thank goodness!

No more overly obvious statements:

"Well, you see, in order for the team to win today, they need to score more points than the other team."

Really? Is that how you win? I didn't know that.

"The team is down by 27, but I think they are playing a great game."

Are you watching the same game I am? They're loosing by 27!

"In order to establish the running game today, they need to run the ball."

And here I thought they need to pass it.

"Brett Favre is amazing. If he was in this game the team would win."

Gag.

"The wheels on the bus go round and round."

And it takes a lot longer to get there.

"See, that guy stopped the play by making what's called a tackle."

A tackle! Is that a new thing?

"I'm going to use my pen to circle a bunch of irrelevant stuff on the screen."

That's a lot of yellow markings.

"The camera view from the sky cam makes me feel like I can fly."
Are you drunk?

"And then he was like BOOM!"

Boom? Boom goes the dynamite?

Here's the official NBC Sports article on Madden's retirement.

How I Met Your Mother...It wasn't at a Mariner's game

Living in the Pacific Northwest, I realize that the sports scene is sucking right now. But now, the rest of the nation is making fun of it too.

Al Michaels on Sunday night football (when the Seahawks were getting ripped apart by the Bucs) made comment about how terrible the Huskies were, the fact the Sonics left, and that the Hawks were gonna loose. Thanks Mr. Michaels.

Then there was "How I Met Your Mother" last night on NBC. Here is the exact quote from the scene.

The characters are sitting around talking about if it would be strange to invite an ex-girlfriend to your wedding.

The character Marshall:

"Why invite a failed relationship to come see a successful one? That would be like inviting the Seattle Mariners to the World Series. That'd be just awkward for everyone."

Thanks NBC. You must really hate Seattle.

Two peas in a pod

Check this out. It's just creepy. Straight off the Associated Press.

BANGOR, Maine - A television news anchor in Maine who looks a lot like Sarah Palin says she's been getting "hate mail and nasty phone calls."

Cindy Michaels from WVII-TV has long brown hair that she sometimes wears up in a style similar to Palin's, and she also wears glasses on occasion.

Michaels says some viewers recently began accusing her of trying to copy Palin's style or, worse, somehow trying to subliminally sway votes.

While smarting over accusations of bias, Michaels says she's generally flattered by the comparisons to Palin. Michaels describes her as a "beautiful woman."

Here are my suggestions to Cindy Michaels:

Wear your hair down: Seriously, that bun thing. Out!

Those glasses: Yeah.......

There is no way that this look was worn by more than one woman. No way.

How to make the Olympics more interesting

The Olympics are lame. Admit it. It's a bunch of sports that are pretty much unwatchable, and to add insult to injury, everything is tape-delayed. It used to be the perfect stage for capitalism vs. communism, good vs. evil and now it's more drugged up than somebody that got their wisdom teeth taken out.

Fear not though, it's possible once again to have an interesting Olympics. They just need to put these events in...

Beer Pong
It would be a dead heat between the Americans and Germans. Light beer would be regulation, causing all Olympic teams to train with Guinness and Mickey's. With this event, how many more college students with drinking problems would then be considered to be "chasing the dream."

Thunderdome
Two men enter, one man leaves.

Hotdog eating contest
Can you imagine the NBC broadcast graphics that would track the puking?

"It looks like Jerry Hanson from Canada has upchucked a record twenty times during these Olympics. No way that was the kind of performance he wanted to put in this year."

Mascot races
Get all the world's best sports mascots and make them run over a moat full of alligators. They actually do this in Iran, so why not make this an actual sport.

Beat the crap out of Richard Simmons
Style points for doing it in a glittery one-piece.

Any other suggestions?

Knight Rider 2.0

The made for television Knight Rider movie just finished here, and all I have say is, amazing.

Knight Industries Three Thousand, or K.I.T.T, is amazing.

Instead of the 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, (which was Knight Industries Two Thousand), the new KITT takes the shape of a 2007 Shelby GT 500 KR.

Yeah, the car is amazing. It can change colors, add ground effects, has 550 horses, plus about a billion other features.

As for the actual show, it was great. And definately looks like it should be on the NBC lineup in the fall.

And if the movie wasn't already cool. David Hasselhoff shows up in it. Yeah, don't hassel the Hoff.
