The Kid comes home

It has finally happened. Seattle sports has finally made a complete revolution. One of the most popular Mariners (if not THE most popular) is coming back. That's right Ken Griffey Jr. and the M's have agreed to a 1-year deal that sends the 39-year-old batter back to where his career started.

Now this move makes a lot of sense from a PR standpoint for the Mariners. Last season the team lost over 100 games, yet still had the 7th best attendance record. With Griffey back in the lineup, more and more fans will want to go to the games just to see him in his final year.

But, from a win games standpoint I just can't make sense of this. Maybe I'm missing something, but I think the Mariners have much larger problems than just putting butts in the seats. How about some pitching, or some hitting, or some catching. Heck, how about just winning some games.

Last season was absolutely terrible. And while the signing of Jr. doesn't seem like a fix, it certainly helps to block that bad season with memories of the good ol' days. Because what Seattle fan can forget Griffey rounding third to slide into home and beat the dreaded Yankees in the 1995 Playoffs? And then seeing the team pile onto Griffey, his patented smile beaming. Welcome back 24.

Now Mariners, let's bring back the "Refuse To Loose" mentality from 1995 too.

A show of LEGENDARY humor

I'm here to tell you about the awesomest show on television. It truly is a show the is LEGENDARY.

Now many may have seen this show while flipping through the channels. Yet, I believe that this show is truly the new FRIENDS.

I'm talking about How I Met Your Mother.

I recently purchased the DVD seasons of the show (because Target was having a major deal on them) so I figured, "Hey, why not."

It was the most awesome decision of my life.

The show is amazing. Now I had watched all of this season, currently the fourth, and parts of the other seasons. But to sit down and watch them back to back is epic.

How I Met Your Mother is about just that. Bob Saget, one of the most famous TV dads of all time, is telling his kids in the year 2030 about, yep you guessed it, how he met their mom.

Now being a huge fan of FRIENDS, it would take a lot to get another show to not only grab my attention, but to grab my attention and tickle its funny bone until it collapses in a laughing heap on the couch.

This show does just that.

From the way the five characters interact. Yes FIVE, unlike the SIX of FRIENDS. That six slot is reserved for non season regulars that pop in for a few episodes and then fade away into the metaphorical TV sunset.

To the way the storyline twists and turns, yet never gets boring. If you don't believe me that the show is legendary, just ask this guy.
