The last few days I've spent out in Montana. One day Brandon and I went hiking around Glacier National Park.
And while there Brandon met his arch nemesis.
Peter Griffin of Family Guy has The Chicken. Brandon of Just South of North has The Goat.
I'll get the video from our whole trip to Glacier National Park up soon.

Mighty Muggs

Picture this:
It's just a normal day at the office. Me sitting in my chair, spinning in circles and making farting noises. Well, it's times like this that I am glad that I am known around the office as "toy guy." Yeah, I have toys on my desk. I have two robots, a guy I found in the parking lot that a purple monster thing, a Peter Griffin and three Mighty Muggs.
And I make them fight.
But this blog isn't about how awesome I am, no, it's about Mighty Muggs. Which are basically the coolest things ever. That's some of the Star Wars ones pictured.
Mighty Muggs are a vinyl/plastic collectible toy series made by Hasbro. And they are 100% recycled materials. AKA 100% recycled awesome.
I have Spiderman, the Human Torch and Bumblebee. Needless to say, I'm the envy of all the other workers.

New Shoes
Well yesterday I got some new running shoes (I had to go Family Guy and tell everybody in my best Chris Griffin voice "I got new shoes!!"). For those of you out there who run you know how great it feels to go out the first time in your new shoes and peel off a couple of miles. You don't realize how broken down your old shoes were until it feels like you are running on pillows.I have what they call a wide bridge which is the width between the knuckles on your big toe and small toe, I also require a more stable heel. For people who are just getting into running or wanting to start running I suggest going to a place like Road Runner Sports where they will perform a few tests (urine sample, blood sample, spinal tap....kidding) on how you walk/run to find a shoe that is right for you. Having shoes that fit properly and provide the support where you most need it are going to make running a lot easier on your body.
The shoe that I decided on (after trying on 6 pairs, which elicited some snide comments about how I am worse than a woman about shoes) was the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 9 which I picked up at FootZone (which is having a 20% off sale on all running shoes and more until Sunday the 5th). After buying these shoes I had to try them out and luckily I was meeting up with some friends for a 4 mile run. They were extremely comfortable, plenty of cushion and support as well as wide enough to support my wide bridge. Also they did NOT allow my foot to move front to back or side to side which will cause blisters (Mr. Yuck sticker). An added feature for those environmental friendly people like the ones here at Just South of North is that the laces are made from 100% recycled materials and they have the worlds first ever biodegradable midsole for running shoes.
All in all I was more than happy with my purchase, the only problem was that I live in Washington and it was of course pouring outside. I don't mind running in the rain because I have an inner heating system that keeps me warmer than most people. The problem was that of course since they are running shoes they have to be white. (Casey and I had a lengthy discussion about why this was and we even went so far to try and rationalize this with graphs, pie charts and a power point presentation by some trusted professors from the University of Washington) Of course they got muddy but it could of been worse I could have been hit by a car...oh wait I almost did. To the driver of a white Ford Explorer, your lucky I didn't have a golf club or I would have gone Jack Nicholson on you!

God, I need a baseball fix.
That's why I'm going to shower you with a crapload of baseball links.
The Real Crash Davis -- unfortunately, that means he sleeps with Susan Sarandon. This is one thing that always bugged me about the movie Bull Durham. Great, great, great baseball movie, but I just don't think Susan Sarandon is attractive. She's got nursing home looks and is just a blatant wacko in real life. She's up there with the girl from Top Gun as the most un-hot hot girls in movies.
Griffey is going to the White Sox -- and reportedly, will still wear his cap backwards.
And if you haven't heard about it, which means you're really stupid, Manny Ramirez has been traded to the LA Dodgers (where he'll reunite with NOOOMAAARRRR) in a three-team trade that has Jason Bay going to Boston from the Pirates.
You can't see me right now but I'm doing the Peter Griffen "SHIPOOPI" dance. This is exactly the move that the Sox needed to make. There's a reason why they've won two World Series.

I survived a Japanese Game Show a big letdown

When I saw the previews for ABC's "I survived a Japanese Game Show" I was very excited. I liked watching the Japanese Game Shows on TV and figured this show would feature American's playing the same crazy competitions.
Instead of just a show that has them competing, it is like Big Brother. Which, I find a Big Lame.
I did like watching the contestants fall on their faces during the competitions, but I REALLY REALLY could have done without the drama in between.
This is one show that will not be on my summer swizzle. It sucked more than pond scum.
Instead, I will watch Family Guy reruns on tbs.
