Another Friday means another installment of Northwest Photographer of the Week. This is from Marta Miller of Snohomish County.

Hey, thanks for the site! Its so great to see everyone's perspective of our state through the camera lens! This was taken in Feb 2010 at Deception Pass. The sunset was breath taking!

Thanks Marta for the photo!

Northwest Photographer of the week: Krystal Brown

Our Northwest Photographer this week is Krystal Brown, an outdoor enthusiast and it certainly shows in her great photography. Here is what she had to say:

I have always had a passion for art, whether it be drawing, painting, or photography. I have been a photographer for about 6 years, the last 3 years pursuing it as a career. My favorite photography is nature and spontaneous portraits. The northwest has so many beautiful plants and scenes that it's hard not to live here and not be an outdoor photographer!

I've attached one (it was so hard to choose!) of my favorite photos that showcases Northwest foliage. This was taken off one of the many Mount Baker trails.

You can see more of Krystal's photography at http://www.solarflarephotography.com/.

Northwest Photographer of the week: Winston Rockwell

Our Northwest Photographer of the Week is Winston "Rocky" Rockwell from Kirkland, WA. Here are some of his great outdoor shots of Northwest scenery...

Mt Shuksan, in the North Cascades, taken from the Mt. Baker ski area... I really liked the light on the mountain top. Originally shot in color, but the shadows were so blue they didn't offer quite enough contrast with the sky, so I converted to B&W to capture a sort of "Ansel Adams" feel.

Or perhaps sunset at Second Beach near La Push, WA.... The day I shot this, there were about a dozen people on the beach. All but three others had left by sundown, and those three took some pictures and departed as soon as the sun went behind the rocks. They obviously didn't know that the best colors come later... this was shot about 30 minutes after the sun set. Yeah, I had to hike back up to my car in the dark, but that's what flashlights are for!

Northwest Photographer of the Week: Sonja Morgan

The coolest thing about doing the Northwest Photographer is seeing all these cool photos from around the region and knowing where they're at. Sonja Morgan is our Northwest Photographer of the Week and she's done just a fantastic job with her images...

Here is what Sonja wrote to us...

I photograph images from all over the Pacific Northwest. I have two lines of work, one in abstracts and one in natural landscapes. Both are extremely popular. I have work in galleries all around the northwest: Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Forks, Bellevue, Kirkland, Issaquah, Seattle and others as well.

I am really into photographing the Olympic Peninsula right now but I love everything about our region.

Northwest Photographer of the Week: Ted Evans

We're really blessed to be able to highlight the photography of Ted Evans this week. Check out these images from Mt. Rainer.

The last one is of Ted Evans himself, obviously, he's got a bit of snow on himself. That happens when you hike up mountains. Here's what he sent us.

My name is Ted Evans and have lived in Seattle for 4 years and cant get enough of what the area has to offer. Adventure is awaiting behind every corner out here and I feel people dont take advantage enough! I have recently been laid off which has allowed to to get out and play and really make a push on photography. I bring my camera everywhere. I put a photo site together with my girlfriend, so please check out our pictures. Most were taken last week up at Rainier.

You can check out his photography site at http://www.birchhillstudio.com/.

Northwest Photographer of the week: Tim & Roe Olson

Well, Casey is getting married to a... yuck... Denver Broncos fan later this year, so we decided to show off this great engagement photo from Studio One-Twenty Photography- based in Fremont, Seattle.

This photo was taken during an engagement session on Jan. 10th. Since this couple has just moved to Seattle, we really wanted to get some shots that showed off their new stomping ground. Although we took some beautiful pictures down in Pike Place, the energy in this shot from Gas Works was priceless!

You can view more of Studio One-Twenty Photography's work at www.studioonetwentyphotography.com.

Great photo! And if you have a Northwest photo you'd like to submit, feel free to email it to JustSouthofNorth@gmail.com. Make sure you leave a caption, your name, and a website (if you have one).

Northwest Photographer of the week: Isa Farnick

It's Friday and what better time to highlight a great photographer in the Northwest? This photo comes from Isa Farnik, currently of Shoreline (30 min. north of Seattle.) Here's the caption she has for the photo.

Taken on the first evening of night skiing at Steven's Pass where I worked for a stint at the beginning of the season. This photo (as well as most of the rest of mine) are simply pretty moments that occur in my life which keeping my camera at my side at all times allow me to capture. There's beauty every where. I don't believe in having to work hard to find it.

Northwest Photographer of the Week: Nicole Jovich

We're big coffee fans here at JustSON, and when you think of coffee, you think of the Northwest. Here's a shot from photographer Nicole Jovich, who said this about the photo:

I feel like nothing is more comforting than a nice latte in our dark, cold, northwest winters... This was taken at Sam's Espresso located in the Greenwood Fred Meyer, the barista was Rick Catib.

You can see more of Nicole's photography at www.nicolejovichphotography.blogspot.com
and we will have more excellent outdoor photography from Nicole in the future.

Northwest Photographer of the Week: Anne Cho

Since we're photography buffs here at Just South of North, we like to post from from everywhere... flickr, Casey's point and shoot camera, our relative's cameras and I'm pretty sure we've even posted a finger painting by Casey as well. Recently we posted a Craigslist ad to get Northwest Photographers to share their photos and here is our first Featured Northwest Photographer of the Week.

This was taken in Kirkland, Wash. by Anne Cho at Log Boom Park. You can visit more of Anne's photography at http://www.annechophotography.com.

Here's another photo from Anne, also from Log Boom Park, and was actually put together from five different photos to create an panoramic. Pretty cool, eh?
