This is what I'm feeling right now...

Only replace that bottom line with "Your favorite college team lost to the University of Montana by a touchdown after several terrible calls and suspect clock running by the hometown press box."

Screw you Montana, I still hate your truck stop of a state.

Go Eagles!!!

Let's take a trip back in time

I just found this link surfing the ol' web. Thought I'd like to refresh everyone's memory...

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- Washington Grizzly Stadium doesn't hold much of a mystique for Eastern Washington anymore.

Erik Meyer passed for 395 yards and five touchdowns Saturday to lead the Eagles to a 34-20 upset of Montana -- the Grizzlies' biggest home loss since 1990.

Eastern Washington (4-2, 3-1 Big Sky), ranked 12th in NCAA Division I-AA, is responsible for four of the nine conference losses Montana has suffered at home since the stadium was built in 1986.

"To come into a hostile environment like this and win -- that just gets us going," Meyer said.

The Eagles, picked to win the league title in preseason polls, overpowered second-ranked Montana (4-2, 2-1) with 541 yards in total offense to 361.

GO EAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Epic Video: Montana's video of lies

Here's a video that kind of shows you the environment that the Eagles are walking into this morning.

Couple things...

1. There's a paid parking lot in Missoula? Isn't there just like a cow pasture people can park in?

2. There's a building that's taller than two stories in Montana (That guy on the Balcony).

3. There's a Montana QB awkwardly throwing the ball... oh wait, yeah that's pretty accurate.

4. All Montana fans are either park lot attendants or old men in barber shop? Maybe this video is spot on!

Photos of Montana Grizzly fans

Today is the big matchup between the Eastern Washington Eagles and the Montana Grizzlies. As you probably already know, I don't get along with Griz fans. But that's all in the past. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf by posting photos of Montana Grizzly fans.

Poor guy. This is the problem when your mascot is actually a ferocious predator in the wilderness. To his credit he said "I love the GRIZ... EEEYYAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" before he was eaten."

"Is that one of them fancy picture boxes that take those photo thingies! Hey Billy Bob! I think he's taking my photo! Hey don't do that, I'm pretty sure it will steal my soul!"

This is Montana's idea of fine sea food.

This is actually a mansion of one of the Montana Grizzly fans.

Either they've painted "Montana" on their chests are they are in serious need of medical attention.

Yes, the wave is still popular at Washington Grizzly Stadium. Even though it hit every other sporting venue in 1992, it just now reached Montana.

"Dude, this bear suit stinks." "I know, I don't ever take it off"

"He's just sleeping right? We're gonna take the photo and run away real quick like eh?"

The entrance to Washington Grizzly Stadium where you have to give the secret password "Cotten-Eye Joe"

Montana's economy at the moment.

The Port Authority of Montana. This is were all the ships from around the world dock in Montana.

Pretty sure he had to move to Montana after that foul ball mess.

Study hall in Montana.

An All-Pro NFL player from Mont... oh wait, this guy is from Eastern Washington University. For some reason I couldn't find any Griz All-Pro player photos in the NFL. Odd...

Third grader brings knife to school! World ends!

Yes, another sign our society is going to crap...

A third-grader is in trouble with the law after he showed up at Atlas Elementary School armed with a knife he’d taken from his mother’s purse Monday. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s report says the student told a classmate, who told a teacher, which prompted a search by the school’s principal that uncovered a knife in the eight-year-olds back pocket. … A sheriff’s report says the student told a deputy he planned on using the knife to go fishing, and in according to the same report, he’d brought matches to school in the past and had thought about bringing a gun.

The knife thing happens, you forget about it in your backpack after a camping trip and you think it's cool to show to your friends. Happens all the time, trust me, I was a kid once. However, bringing a gun to school is terrifying and I hope that his parents don't have guns readily available for him to snag.

He needs to be put in counseling for a bit to see why he wants to bring a gun to school. If it's just for exhibition, tell him to bring a frog and action figures instead.

Chuck Norris: The guy you don't want to owe money

Apparently Mike Huckabee owes Chuck Norris some money. How much? Oh, to the tune of $25,000.

Politico brought Huckabee's newly filed campaign finance report to our attention with an item about how deadbeat news outlets CNN and ABC News owe the campaign $2,906 and $833, respectively, for "Press Travel Reimbursement." We checked, and it does. But the eye-popping figure to us was $23,570 owed by the campaign to Top Kick Productions of Houston, Texas for "travel - charter." Hmmmm—what is Top Kick Productions, and what films has it produced? Why, Lone Wolf McQuade, Deadly Reunion, and Silent Rage! Certainly looks like Chuck Norris' production company. Indeed, Norris listed Top Kick as his employer in a donation to Huckabee's PAC last year.

Well somebody better pay up before they get a roundhouse kick to the head.

The NFL is out to get Rush Limbaugh (Obama too!)

Get ready for a firestorm as the right-wing media goes into a frenzy after one of their own got shot down for possible minority ownership in the NFL. Rush Limbaugh had been part of the ownership group that was looking to purchase the St. Louis Rams - however after objection from NFL players, the player's association and a public outcry, he was excluded from that ownership group.

But Rush isn't going to down without a fight. Here's what he had to say...

During a 15-minute counterattack at the start of his show, Limbaugh said he believes he's been made an example by a players' union seeking leverage in talks over a new collective bargaining agreement. What happened to him was an illustration of "Obama's America on full display," the commentator said.

Hold on, you were denied ownership of an NFL team because of your past record of inflammatory remarks and it is somehow Barack Obama's fault. That guy gets credit for everything from world peace to the coming of World War III.

Limbaugh's history hurt his participation in the bid. In 2003, he was forced to resign from ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" after saying of the Eagles' Donovan McNabb: "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well."

Ahem. That's not the least bit racist. The media always has their favorites and all of a sudden it's wrong if the media favors a black quarterback? And it couldn't be further from the truth and McNabb has the same numbers as Big Ben, but Ben get's the praise and questions about McNabb's getting benched gets thrown around every season. And there were successful black quarterbacks before him... soo....

According to transcripts posted on his Web site, in 2007 Limbaugh said: "The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it."

Again Rush Limbaugh is not a racist. Nosireeee.

Limbaugh blamed Smith, executive director of the NFLPA and an "Obama-ite," along with Sharpton and Jackson, whom he referred to as "race hustlers," for Checketts' decision to drop him. He said his sacking was an example of the political clout wielded by President Barack Obama's administration.

There he goes back to Obama! I'm sure there's some way he can blame global warming on Obama as well. Wow!

Listen Rush, the NFL is a business and it has the right to deny your involvement in their operations. The simple matter is that you're an inflammatory shock jock radio host that says things that are often offensive. You made your own bed in this, and you again do that normal little ditty of blaming other people. Aren't the Republicans suppose to be all about personal responsibility?

You say these outlandish things and you expect no repercussions? No public outcry? Get real bud.

The NFL wasn't going to partner with Rush Limbaugh for the same reason CBS News wouldn't have Girls Gone Wild be one of their sponsors. That's content that's inheritance offensive to their fan base and their players. It's a lose-lose situation.

And owning an NFL team is not a right. That's like saying just because you have money, you have the right to be a CEO of a company you choose if you pay them to put you in that position. Doesn't work that way, Rush.

Just continue to be that moron we've grown to love. I honestly don't even think you had any intention of owning part of the Rams, this was just a scheme to get more attention on yourself.

You know, that doesn't involve prescription drugs.

No really... ew.

John Riggins rips the Redskins, Jim Zorn

Apparently if you're a former running back for the NFL, the cool thing to do these days is sit by your wood pile and take potshots at your former team. Sure it's the Redskins, but it's also against former Seahawks QB Jim Zorn.

Hopefully Riggins becomes the Stephon Marbury of the NFL and keeps posting very odd and disturbing videos.

Big Sky Conference continues to show their love for Montana

(Sigh) EWU senior linebacker is suspended the same week as the Montana game? You've got to be kidding me! Here's the lowdown from the Spokesman's Steve Bergum...

The Big Sky Conference has suspended Eastern Washington University senior linebacker Kyle Wilkins for one game because of the illegal hit his put on a Weber State receiver during Saturday’s 31-13 loss to the Wildcats at Woodward Field.

I did not see a replay of the hit, but from my pressbox view, I did not think it deserved even the personal-foul penalty it drew at the time, helping set the stage for three WSU scores in the final 90 seconds of the first half.  I have a call in to EWU coach Beau Baldwin to get his take on the hit and the suspension and will update this post with whatever comments he makes.

I worked the soundboard for broadcast of the Weber State game and I do not remember any hit eliciting a response like "that's an illegal hit" or any sort of question like that. What prompted the video review then? My guess is that the Montana Grizzly Conference strikes again.

(Something tells me there will be ten suspendable hits made by Griz players this weekend and they won't even get a sniff by the Big Sky)

Trout Tickling

One thing I had never heard of until tonight was trout tickling. This is a way to catch fish without using anything but your bare hands.

But tonight on an episode of Man vs. Wild Bear Grylls caught a fish by searching under rock overhangs and logs. You gently scrape your fingers in the sand with your palms heading toward the rock. If a fish is there, then you gently trap it with your palms. You then slowly rub the fish's tummy and then cup around the fish and pull out.

He did end up catching a fish that way. It was pretty awesome.

Now trout tickling isn't the only way to catch a fish with just your hands. You can also try noodling to catch catfish. Brandon wrote a great article on this last week.

Noodling and tickling, who thinks these things up?

Epic Video: Discovery Channel

Most guys would say that their favorite channel is ESPN. Well, the truth is ESPN is too expensive for this guy to buy.

However, basic cable includes The Discovery Channel.

And because of this, Discovery is this guys favorite channel. I love it so.

Reasons why you're still single... Mr. Gonzaga Basketball Fan

WHOOAAAH! Good for you Mr. WSU Grad who has decided to become a full-time fan of Gonzaga basketball after moving to Spokane. Not only have you decked out your gas-sucking SUV in Zag decals that make you look like a walking advertisement for Mark Few but you've also decided that your morning business attire should consist of a obnoxious GU hoodie and hat that can be seen from miles around (how many times can an apparel maker put "GU" on a sweatshirt and hat? apparently 158).

Not only this but in all you Zag-ness, you apparently never went to driving school and decided to pull a Bo Jackson-esque fake-out in your Zag SUV while "coming to a stop" near a stop sign. A certian blogger driving on the main street not only had to hit his brakes and then sit there while you made up your decision to go or not in the middle of the road.

How's that Adam Morrison NBA jersey treating you?

Reasons why you're single... Flag Football

It's great that you want to get out and exercise, but a competitive flag football team is about as lame as a Alberta swimsuit competition. It's fun to go out with friends and play a game but when you start setting up a practice schedule, complete with a weight training regime, it might have gone too far.

And no, people don't get excited when you update how your team is doing on Facebook/twitter/local newspaper. The Eastern Western Kentucky State Intramural League is not exactly news-worthy.

Saying things like "WE DOMINATED" and "OUR BLOCKS LAID OUT ANYONE WHO GOT IN OUR WAY" are fairly ridiculous, considering your college-age team's domination came over a bunch of overweight 40-year olds trying to relive the 70s again by play flag football once a week. I don't think the professional flag football league is going to come calling or anything.

And also keep in mind, there's one major thing missing from flag football - contact - that would put your past-it's-prime body in the hospital if you went up against somebody semi-talented (heck semi-pro at this rate).

So please, shut up about your flag football team.

(And how many times does somebody's shorts get completely pulled down at game? Twice? Three times a game? LAAAAAMMMME)
